  • there are only 30-40 lethal species of scorpions in the world and the indian red is the most lethal [1]
  • the scorpion's venom affects the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems
  • most of the scorpion's victims are children 
  • they have the ability to stay in a freezer for the night and thaw out in the morning
  • they detect prey (mostly insects) by using sensory hairs and organs that sense vibrations [2]
  • indian red scorpions can glow in the dark
  • if you aren't treated, you can die within 72 hours of being stung [3]
  • scorpions go through a molting process during which they shed their exoskeleton
  • they are very sensitive to light and so they stay hidden during the day
